Kalutara
Kalutara is a town with approximately 38,000 inhabitants about 35 kilometers south of Colombo. The town lies at the mouth of the river Kalu Ganga. An important building is the dagoba of a large temple complex. Pilgrims visit here an offshoot of the more than 2000 years old Bodhi tree, is said to have received his enlightenment under the Buddha.
