Kalynivka, Vinnytsia Oblast

Kalynivka (Ukrainian Калинівка; Russian Калиновка / Kalinowka, Polish Kalinówka ) is a town in Vinnytsia Oblast of Ukraine, about 24 north of Vinnytsia Oblasthauptstadt the river Scherd ( Жердь ).

The town was first mentioned in writing in 1774, received in 1935 the status of an urban-type settlement and is since 1979 a city. Economic development is strongly influenced by the location at the intersection of two railroad lines.

For the municipality also includes the village still Pryluzke ( Прилуцьке ) and the settlements Kalynivka Druha ( Калинівка Друга ) and Riwnynne ( Рівнинне ).
