Kamalasai District

Amphoe Kamalasai ( Thai: อำเภอ ก มลาไสย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Kalasin. The Kalasin Province is located in the northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Geography

The neighboring districts are clockwise starting from the west: the Amphoe Khong Chai, Mueang Kalasin and Don Chan in the province of Kalasin, Amphoe Pho Chai Roi Et Province, Amphoe Rong Kham turn in Kalasin and Amphoe Changhan again in the province of Roi Et

Attractions

  • Mueang Fa Daet (full name Mueang Fa Daet Song Yang, เมือง ฟ้า แดด สง ยาง ) - archaeological site of a 1000 year old city from the Dvaravati period, about 19 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital.

Management

Amphoe Kamalasai is ( tambon) divided into eight municipalities, which in turn consist of 111 villages ( Muban ).

There are also three small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Kamalasai ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ก มลาไสย ) consists of parts of tambon Lak Mueang Kamalasai and,
  • Thanya ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ธัญ ญา ) consists of parts of the tambon Thanya,
  • Nong Paen ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล หนอง แป น ) consists of the whole tambon Nong Paen
  • Dong Ling ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ดง ลิง ) consists of the whole Tambon Dong Ling

In addition, there are six " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations).
