Kame

As Kame (from Kame = Scottish steep hill pendent of loose material ) is called a survey within glacial Aufschüttungslandschaften, which is caused by the deposition of the ice and its meltwater at the ice margin against an abutment. Abutment can be Toteisblöcke, valley or other relationships. The subsequent melting of Toteises can then occur as a full form in appearance the camera.

The meltwater rivers poured on or against the abutment, such as dead ice, sand and gravel. Widespread but are also fine-grained sediments that have arisen in Eisstauseen. Kames therefore among the glazifluvialen as well as the glazilimnischen forms.

Kames are among the small forms of the glacial series and are a part of the ground moraine. In contrast to the elongated Os trains Kames more likely to have irregular or roundish floor plans and are not like a wall, but have more back or dome shape. Steeper side slopes often limit a flatter plateau. Their height is between few and a few dozen meters; their surface ranges from a few to a few hundred square meters hectare.

Akin to the Kames are Kamesterrassen in which the abutment is always formed by a valley slope. Kamesterrassen found mainly in formerly heavily glaciated mountain ranges such as the Alps.
