Kamelot
Kamelot is a rather untypical U.S. Melodic Power Metal band with progressive felling and orchestral / classical influences.
History
The band was founded in 1991 by Thomas Youngblood and Richard Warner. 1994 Kamelot wrote a record deal and in August of the following year released her debut album Eternity. In 1996 Dominion. In spring 1997 drummer Richard Warner and vocalist Mark Vanderbilt were replaced. With Casey Grillo and former Conception vocalist Roy Khan, who joined in the ongoing production to Siege Perilous Kamelot found a replacement. Returned in 1999, the newly formed band to Wolfsburg in the "Gate Studio " back, there to produce the fourth album The Fourth Legacy. In 2001, the band presented their fifth studio album Karma. Published in 2006 live CD One Cold Winter 's Night Live contains excerpts from the concert at Rockefeller Music Hall in Oslo. Guests at this performance, among other things, Simone Simons ( Epica singer of the symphonic metal band ), Thomas ' wife Marie and Snowy Shaw ( ex- King Diamond / Dream Evil ). The album Ghost Opera was released in summer 2007 and is stylistically a bit darker. The video for the title track Ghost Opera was filmed in Serbia. Ghost Opera received worldwide maximum ratings, the German Hardline Magazine awarded, for example, 10 out of 10. In autumn 2010 they released with Poetry for the Poisoned their ninth studio album.
On April 21, 2011, known vocalist Roy Khan that he is leaving the band due to health reasons. He had not participated on the tour to Poetry for the Poisoned and was represented by Fabio Lione of Rhapsody of Fire. On 22 June 2012 she gave officially known as the new singer on their website Tommy Karevik.
The Black Halo, Epica
The Black Halo and Epica deal lyrically with Goethe's Faust, especially Faust II and the cross-references to that were found in the classical Greek antiquity. Doer are especially Ariel and Helena. The music has strong classical influences, on the other hand, it is sometimes also quite gloomy. So contains the first song March of Mephisto from the album The Black Halo Growlparts originating from the album version of the song from Shagrath ( singer of the Norwegian dark metal band Dimmu Borgir ).
The album Epica served the Dutch band of the same name by its own account as an inspiration in the naming process.
