Kamghe Gaba

Kamghe Gaba ( born January 13, 1984 in Friedberg ) is a German sprinter.

Sports career

The son of a German mother and a father Chadian Gaba began in 1996 as a track and field athlete at the SKG Frankfurt and joined the youth for LG Eintracht Frankfurt, where he first began his sporting career as a multi-event athlete. He celebrated their first success in 2001 when he reached the fifth place at the U18 World Championships in eight fight. From 2002 he began to concentrate on the 400 -meter run and won at the Junior European Championships in 2003 with the German 4 x 400 - meter relay gold. In 2004 he became the third in the German championships to qualify for the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. There he was with the German 4 x 400 - meter relay team to seventh place.

2006 Gaba was in Ulm in the new personal best of 45.47 s after his title win in the relay last year, he could repeat in Ulm, the first time German champion over the 400m. By this time, he undercut significantly the required standard to take part in the European Championships three weeks later in Gothenburg, left there but for the Semifinal run and finished with the German relay in the final in fourth place. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, the squadron was eliminated in the intermediate run.

In 2010 he was again German champion over 400 meters, but missed the standard for the European Championships in the same year in Barcelona by two hundredths and missed there with the squadron like four years ago in Gothenburg the podium in fourth scarce.

At the European Championships 2012 in Helsinki, he won the 4 x 400 - meter relay bronze, resigned four weeks later at the Olympic Games in London, however, in the semifinals.

Gaba trained as an offset printer. Since October 2005 he is a member as a regular soldier of the Bundeswehr. He coached since 2011 at the LG Stadtwerke München under Daniel Limburg, as it was in his time in Frankfurt.

Kamghe Gaba has a competition weight of 96 kg at a height of 2.02 m.
