Kamiel Maase

Kamiel Maase ( born October 20, 1971 in Nijmegen) is a Dutch long-distance runner.

In 1997, he put on his first national record when he ran the 10,000 m in 27:35,72 min. In 1999 he improved on that mark 27:34,02 min. At the World Athletics Championships 1997 in Athens, he was over this distance eleventh, at the 1999 World Championships in Seville eighth.

He was at the Rotterdam Marathon in 2:10:09 eleventh hour on his debut over this distance was also in 1999. In a marathon, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, he finished 13th place. In the same year he succeeded another national record in the 5000m ( 13:14,13 min).

At the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, he finished tenth, and at the end of this year he was European Vice- Champion in cross-country running. At the European Athletics Championships in Munich in 2002, he was fifth in the 5000m and ninth in the 10,000 m.
