The combat squadron 6 was a federation of the Luftwaffe in World War II.

The wing staff was already on 11 October 1941 I. - III.. Group occurred on September 1, 1942 by renaming existing combat groups. From the I. / KG 77 was the I. / KG 6, from the K.Fl.Gr. 106 was the II. / KG 6 and from the III. / LG 1, the III. / KG 6 IV ( supplementary ) group was reorganized. In October 1942, the squadron flew first attacks on targets in England. Due to the precarious situation in the Mediterranean laid a large part of the squadron from November to southern Italy. From there, they intervened in the struggle for Tunisia.

After the squadron was moved back to the West in March / April 1943, where it again flew attacks on England along with other combat squadrons. In May 1943 it moved to southern France to intervene again in the fighting in North Africa. Then in June the Squadron of the Air Fleet 2 in Italy was assumed. There intervened in the battles around Sicily and the Italian mainland in the sequence. From September it moved back to northern France to the Channel coast

From early 1944 until May 1944 took all groups participate in the company Capricorn. To this end, they were the IX. Air Corps 3rd Air Fleet assumed. After the Allied landing in Normandy, it attacked the landing troops. Turning to the general retreat Adapting, the squadron moved to Brussels and on to the east.
