Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park

Historical Park Kamphaeng Phet ( Thai: อุทยาน ประวัติศาสตร์ กำแพงเพชร, IPA: [ ʔùt ʰ ÁJA ː n pràwàttìsà ː t kamp ʰ ɛ ː ŋ p ʰ ét ] ) includes the ruins of the ancient border town of Kamphaeng Phet (Diamond Wall), which at the time of the Kingdom of Ayutthaya as a city ( Mueang ) Cha Kang Rao ( Thai เมือง ชา กัง ราว ) was known. Kamphaeng Phet was next to the capital, Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai one of the three great cities of the Sukhothai kingdom, which had its heyday in the 13th to 15th centuries.

On 12 December 1991, the park was declared along with similar parks in Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai become a part of world heritage by UNESCO.

Location

Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park is located on the west edge of the modern city of Kamphaeng Phet, which is the capital of the province of Kamphaeng Phet simultaneously.

Historical Park Kamphaeng Phet consists of three closely spaced areas: the city of Nakhon Chum ( Thai เมือง นคร ชุม ) on the west bank of the Maenam ( River ) Ping, and bordered by a trapezoidal attachment City Kamphaeng Phet on the east bank of the Ping and northwest of that located on a hilly area, which is called Aranyik ( Thai เขต อรัญญิก ).

Mueang Nakhon Chum

Khet Aranyik
