Kamuli District

Kamuli is a district of Uganda and is located on the right bank of the Nile. Kamuli has, according to the census of 2002 712.079 inhabitants in an area of 4301.5 km ². The main town is the same Kamuli. The district was formerly part of the Kingdom of Busoga.

The population is about 89 % of the Basoga, other groups are Bagungu, Iteso, Baganda and Samia.

It is bordered on the north by the Kiogasee, the adjoining districts are clockwise starting in the north of Soroti, Pallisa, Iganga, Jinja, Kayunga and lira.
