Kanal D is a Turkish private television Dogan Yayin holding company based in Istanbul.
Organization
Channel D was founded on 19 December 1993 by Ayhan Sahenk. October 17, 1994, the transmitter of Aydın Doğan was purchased. It has a market share of 14 percent of the most-watched television station in Turkey.
Program
Channel D presents a full program of news broadcasts for entertainment programs of all kinds, the most well-known programs are the series Yaprak Dökümü (2006-2010) and Kavak Yelleri (2007-2011), based on novels by the Turkish writer Reşat Nuri Güntekin, the drama series Aşk -ı Memnu (2008-2011, adaptation of the eponymous novel by Halid Ziya Uşaklıgil of 1900 ), the series Küçük Kadınlar ( 2008-2011, action inspired by the American novel Little Women ) and Ihlamurlar altinda ( 2005-2008). On February 18, 2007 Channel D has taken a same TV channel in Romania in operation, which is now broadcast via satellite and on which the publishing house Ringier owns a 25 %.
