The University of Kanazawa (金 沢 大学Japanese, Kanazawa daigaku, in short: Kindai (金 大) ) is a state university in Japan. The main campus is located in Kakuma -machi, Kanazawa in Ishikawa Prefecture.

History

The university was founded in 1862 as an institution for smallpox vaccination (种痘 所, Shuto -sho ) of Kaga - han. 1876 ​​was a medical school of the Ishikawa Prefecture.
