The Kantosi (also Kantonsi, Yare, Yarsi and Dagaare - Diula ) is an endangered Ghanaian language with only 2,300 speakers (2003 GILLBT ), including 280 to 400 speakers in Sandema District, probably about 280 in Kpaliwongo. She is the mother language of the Kantosi - people.

In the central northern Ghana, the Sandema District, on the edge of Bulsa ( Buli ) language area. Other settlements are near Wa, in Navrongo, Bolgatonga, Nalerigu and Kpaliwogo.

The Kantosi call Kpaliwongo, a village southeast of the Funsi ( Upper West Region), their place of origin. Kantosi is also spoken in Burkina Faso.

Kantosi has a close relationship with Kamara, Farefare and Dagbani.
