Kao Corporation

K. K. Kao (Japanese花王 株式会社, Kao kabushiki - gaisha, Eng. Kao Corporation) is in the Nikkei 225 Listed, Japanese chemical and cosmetics company headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. In Germany kao about the companies Guhl Ikebana GmbH, KPSS -Kao Professional Salon Services GmbH ( Goldwell, KMS California) and Kao Chemicals GmbH operates.

History

By 1950 the company was known as Nihon Yūki KK (日本 有机 株式会社, Eng. Nihon Yuki Company) known and changed its name only in 1985.

In 1971, Beiersdorf AG (60 % ) together with the Kao KK (40 %), the joint venture Nivea Kao K. K. (ニベア 花王 株式会社) for the marketing of Nivea, and later the hair care brand Guhl, in the Japanese market. Beiersdorf retired in 1991 from the joint venture back, and since then the brand Guhl is fully owned by Kao Corporation.

The company is represented on the North American and European markets. The place of business in the United States has its headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio, the German subsidiary is located in Darmstadt.
