Kapchagay

Qapschaghai ( Қапшағай Kazakh, Russian Капчагай ) is a city on the river Ili area in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with around 46,521 inhabitants ( 2008).

History

The city was founded on July 3, 1970 on the banks of Kapchagai Reservoir.

Economy

In Qapschaghai there is a facility of the Bavarian company Knauf Gips.
