Kapelle

( Listen? / I ) Chapel is a municipality and town in the Dutch province of Zeeland and counted on 1 January 2013 as declared by the CBS 12,487 inhabitants.

From the Second World War, there is a military cemetery, where about 220 French soldiers, 20 Moroccan soldiers of the French army and a Belgian soldier are interred.

The children's author Annie MG Schmidt and the politician Jan Peter Balkenende were born in this place. The cyclist Jo de Roo comes from the district Schore.

Townscape and Transport

The place is connected via the railway station Chapel Biezelinge to the Zeeland Lijn, which runs from Roosendaal to Vlissingen.

The " Hervormde Kerk " of chapel is located in the center of the " ring - village ", it was built in the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries.

In the 14th century, the building of the present church began with the choir and the tower.
