Kapteyn (crater)

Kapteyn is an impact crater on the eastern limb of the Moon front page. It is located between the craters Langrenus in the west and La Pérouse in the east. The round crater rim is moderately eroded with traces of landslides. The interior has a central mountain.

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1964 after the Dutch astronomer Jacobus Kapteyn C..
