Karabakh horse

The Karabakh ( Azerbaijani Qarabağ ati ) is a Caucasian breed of horse that was there again and again used for processing of other horse breeds.

Exterior

Karabaghen are on average 147-150 cm high, agile, surefooted, pretty, mostly gold-colored (yellow, brown or red gold ) horses that were probably a development of the races Turkmen, Persians and Arabs. Its main distribution area is the southern Caucasus, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh. Probably the Karabaghen in northern Iran are very similar to Karabaghen, possibly, these are even to another branch of the same race.

Interior

Unlike the typical prey animal behavior of Karabagh his salvation is not looking in headless escape, but freezes at risk pillar of salt. This behavior can be lifesaving in the mountains.

Breeding history

The Karabaghpferderasse is a very noble and ancient Caucasus horse race and was used in the Caucasus and adjacent areas again and again for crossing with other breeds. So Kabarda, Delibos, Don horse or Budjonny can be found in individual lines influences the Karabaghpferdes even when, for example, in the races.
