Karaj

Karaj (Persian کرج, English: Karaj ) is a city in Iran with about 1.5 million inhabitants and a strong youth proportion (approximately 50 % of the population ). The city is located at 1,300 meters above sea level at the foot of the Alborz mountains, about 40 km west of Tehran and is the capital of the province of Alborz.

Climate

The climate is very continental in Karaj dominated with low rainfall. Typical are hot and dry summers and wet - cold winters. Precipitation is very unlikely in the summer.
