Karan Johar

Karan Johar (Hindi: करण जौहर, born May 25, 1972 in Bombay, Maharashtra ) is the most successful young director and producer from India. He is the son of Yash Johar.

Karan Johar began as an assistant director and supporting actor at Aditya Chopra's Dilwale Dulhania Le successful film Jayenge and was also responsible for the costumes of Shahrukh Khan. During the shoot, he became friends with Khan. Kajol, the female lead of the film, he had known since he was eighteen.

His first film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, in which he directed and wrote the screenplay, was the biggest blockbuster in 1998 and won Filmfare awards in all major categories. Shahrukh Khan and Kajol in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge had accompanied him to his first project and played in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the main roles. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie His second film Gham came in the Top 3 of the British cinema hit list. In 2003, his third film Kal Ho Naa Ho in the cinemas. This time he did not lead director, Nikhil Advani but who was his assistant in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Kal Ho Naa Ho was a first for the Bollywood cinema, because he plays completely in New York. In all three films, both Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee and play with, although the latter two in Kal Ho Naa Ho only had seconds appearances.

His penultimate film My Name Is Khan is the first global Bollywood blockbusters and thus the most successful abroad Bollywood film of all time.
