The ǁ Karas region extends over the whole south of Namibia and has a share in the three most prevalent landscape areas of Namibia. In the West ǁ Karas bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, the subsequent coastal strip is occupied mainly by the restricted diamond area. The vast plains and plateaus of the desert-like containment area are broken by isolated hills and mountain ranges such as the Dikwillem and the Klinghardt Mountains. To ǁ Karas also most of the Penguin Islands, small coastal islands are offshore. East of the restricted area close to mountain ranges of the Great Escarpment on the coastal strip. In particular, the Tiras Mountains and the Huns Mountains form large mountain ranges. The Fish River Canyon in the Huns Mountains is the second largest canyon in the world and a National Monument in Namibia. The eastern half ǁ Karas ' is determined by the intra-African basin landscape of Southern Africa, where ǁ Karas has on its eastern border share of the Kalahari Desert. Economy

ǁ Karas has a well- developed infrastructure and a mixed economic construction. The port of Lüderitz is the center of fishing and boat building industry, Oranjemund the center of the diamond mining and the circles in the interior usually have a healthy small -scale agriculture.

There are smaller airports in Karasburg, Keetmanshoop, Lüderitz and Oranjemund, with Keetmanshoop also lies most centrally in the Namibian road network. By ǁ Karas run the national roads, and.
