Name
Etymology
Karbach takes its name from the eponymous, the place flowing through Karbach, which opens into rooms in the Main.

History
The place was part of the Bishopric of Würzburg high and came in the kingdom in 1803 to the Counts Löwenstein- Wertheim. Both belonged from 1500 to the Frankish Empire circle. In 1806 he became part of Baden Mediatamtes Steinfeld, assigned in 1816 to Austria. In Generalrezess of Frankfurt in 1819, he came to Bayern.

Jewish Cemetery
Since 1983 a memorial stone in the Jewish cemetery recalls the persecution and murder of the Jewish population of Karbach, Homburg and Marktheidenfeld, the victims of the Holocaust were in the time of Nazi tyranny.

The municipal tax revenue in 1999 amounted to the equivalent of € 1,007,000, of which were converted € 428,000 ( net) trade tax revenue.
