Karel Stibor

Karel Stibor ( born November 5, 1923 in Prague, Czechoslovakia, † November 8, 1948 over the English Channel ) was a Czech ice hockey player.

Career

Karel Stibor spent his entire career as a hockey player in his hometown at the LTC Prague. With its team of attackers in the years 1943 and 1944, respectively Master of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia was. From 1945 to 1948 he played with the LTC Prague in the first league, the highest Czechoslovak league. With the capital club, he won in 1946, 1947 and 1948 three-time national champion. Stibor died in November 1948 at the age of 25 in a plane crash over the English Channel.

Internationally

For Czechoslovakia Stibor participated in the World Cup 1947 and the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 in part. At the World Championships 1947 he won with his team the gold at the Winter Olympics of 1948, the silver medal. In both tournaments, Czechoslovakia was as the best European Team Champion.
