Karen Bass

Karen Ruth Bass ( born October 3, 1953 in Los Angeles, California) is an American politician. Since 2011, it represents the state of California in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Karen Bass attended the Hamilton High School in Los Angeles. She then studied in the years 1971 and 1972 at the San Diego State University philosophy. Finally, she studied until 1990 at the California State University, Carson. Then worked as a doctor and clinic assistant at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. At the same time she began a career in politics as a member of the Democratic Party. Between 2005 and 2010 she was deputy in the California State Assembly; Since 2008 she served as President of the Parliament chamber.

In the congressional elections of 2010, Karen Bass was the 33rd electoral district of California in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where they became the successor of not more candidates Diane Watson on January 3, 2011.
