Karianne Christiansen

Karianne Christiansen ( born February 24, 1949 in Tønsberg, † October 30, 1976 in Robru ) was a Norwegian alpine skier. The ten times Norwegian champion reached two fifth places in the World Cup and took part in the 1970 World Cup and the Olympic Winter Games in 1972.

Career

In their active time was Christiansen tenfold Norwegian National Champion: three in the slalom, giant slalom three times, twice in the downhill and twice in the combination. In World Cup races she could place a total of seven times in the top ten, including the World Cup race in 1970, which also included the World Cup. Your best results were two fifth places in the home slalom in Oslo in February 1968 and Voss in March 1970.

In the 1970 World Cup in Val Gardena was as each best Norwegian Eighth in the combination and tenth in the downhill, also 17th in the giant slalom and 20th in slalom. Less successful was her only part in the Olympics in 1972 in Sapporo. Best result was ranked number 21 in the downhill. In the Giant Slalom they came in at number 27, in the slalom she left.

Christiansen died in a car accident near Robru.
