Karim Matmour (Arabic كريم مطمور, DMG Karīm Maṭmūr; born June 25, 1985 in Strasbourg ) is a French -Algerian football player at the position of a striker. Since 2013 he is the 1st FC Kaiserslautern under contract.
Origin, Family and Youth
Karim Matmour came in 1985 as one of six children of Algerian immigrants in Strasbourg to the world, where he also grew up.
Career
Born in Alsace Matmour began in 1990 or 1991, with five years with the football at the African swine fever virus Strasbourg. In 1999 Matmour in the youth department of the then first division side Racing Strasbourg. In 2001 he came to inserts in the reserve team. During the winter break of the season 2003/ 04 he went back to his original club. In the season 2004/ 05 he moved over to the nearby German -French border and signed with the amateur side SC Freiburg. In July 2005, Volker Finke Matmour took to the training camp of the previously relegated from the Bundesliga professionals.

For the 2013/14 season changed Matmour 1 FC Kaiserslautern. He signed the second division a contract until 30 June 2015. On July 20, 2013 he made his debut for the FCK in the away match against SC Paderborn which won the Red Devils 1-0.
National
On 7 February 2007 Matmour debuted in the national team of Algeria with 2-1 win over Libya. In 30 international matches, he scored 2 goals.
Mid-November 2009 he succeeded with the national team qualified for the World Cup 2010. In the group stage, he met Slovenia, England and the United States. Karim Matmour came in all games used.
Matmour announced on 3 May 2012 that he no longer stands for the national team available because he wants to concentrate on his club career. He was last accrued on 29 February 2012 against Gambia for his country.
Game style
Because of its high basic speed and agility, but also because of its frequent lack of overview on the ball, Matmours remembers playing often on the behavior of a bat. Consequently, he was awarded by fans of the nickname " Batmour ".
Others
In June 2007 Matmour criticized the then future President of France, Nicolas Sarkozy, and accused him to have generated conflicts because of derogatory statements against young Frenchman with an immigrant background.
Matmour speaks French, German and understands by his own admission Arabic. Matmour is the singer of the German band Milk & Honey, Manel Filali, married.
