Karimabad (Hunza)

Karimabad Baltit or is a city in Pakistan.

The city was named after Prince Karim Aga Khan, the spiritual leader of the Shia Ismaili Muslims - - Nizari community. She was until 1974 the capital of Hunza, until the state became part of the Northern Areas of Pakistan. Since 2009, the names of the Northern Areas Gilgit -Baltistan. The district Gilgit, was one of the Karimabad until then was divided into Gilgit and Hunza Nagar. Karimabad is now in the Hunza Nagar district.

During the summer, Karimabad is visited by tourists. Consist of the city views of the mountain landscape with seven -thousanders such as Rakaposhi.
