Karimnagar ( Telugu: కరీంనగర్, Urdu: کریم نگر Karīmnagar [ kʌri mnʌɡʌr ː ] ) is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh in Telangana region. It is the administrative seat of the district of Karimnagar and has about 260,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ).

Geography

The city is located at an altitude of 265 meters. It is 162 km from the capital city of Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad, where there is also the nearest international airport.
