Karl Augustesen

Karl A. Augustesen (* 1945, also listed as Kalle or Carl Augustesen ) is a Danish astronomer.

Augustesen worked at Brorfelde Observatory, where he discovered some asteroids such as ( 3596 ) Meriones on November 14, 1985 together with Poul Jensen. The previously discovered in April of the same year asteroids both named after Karen Blixen, the Danish author. Officially it is called now ( 3318 ) Blixen.

After him the asteroid ( 5171 ) is named Augustesen.
