Karl Baur

Karl Baur ( born November 13, 1911 in Laichingen, † October 12, 1963 in Texas ) was a German pilot, flight instructor and engineer.

About the model aircraft and the glider came Karl Baur of flying and received his pilot's license in 1931. He was a member of the 1929 Akaflieg Through contact with Wolf Hirth. His studies of mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart he graduated in 1938.

As chief test pilot for Messerschmitt in Augsburg, he oversaw the development of the Bf 109, Me 262 and other prototypes. Baur flew all Messserschmittmodelle the Second World War.
