Karl Borsch

Karl Borsch ( born August 1, 1959 in Krefeld ) is auxiliary bishop in the Diocese of Aachen.

Life

After graduating from high school Thomaeum in Kempen Karl Borsch studied from 1979 to 1985 law in Bonn. Subsequently, he studied until 1990, Catholic Theology in Frankfurt- Sankt Georgen and Freiburg. The ordination as a deacon he received on 1 December 1991. September 26, 1992 he was ordained a priest in Aachen. He then worked until September 1996 as a chaplain in GER.

In October 1996, the Aachen Bishop Henry Mussinghoff appointed him bishop's chaplain and private secretary. On November 16, 1996, he was awarded the title of pastor. From October 2002 to March 2004 he served as Director of the Aachen Theologenkonvikts Collegium Paulinum in Bonn.

On November 21, 2003, he was appointed by Pope John Paul II appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Aachen and Titular Bishop of Crepedula. He received his episcopal consecration Bishop Henry Mussinghoff on 17 January 2004 in Aachen Cathedral; Co-consecrators were the suffragans Gerd thickness and Karl Reger. On the day of his episcopal ordination Karl Borsch was also appointed canon of the cathedral chapter of Aachen.

Karl Borsch is a member of the Council for the training of priests and since 1 July 2006 the episcopal vicar for religious and secular institutes and societies of apostolic life in the Diocese of Aachen.

Motto and coat of arms

The motto of Bishop Karl Borsch is: primum regnum Dei Quaerite ( " Seek ye first the kingdom of God" ) and comes from the Gospel of Matthew (Mt 6,33 EU).

Its coat of arms has as a background the coat of arms of the Diocese of Aachen: a black cross on golden background. In this coat of arms, a red crest is centrally inscribed on a stylized cross and a stylized antlers can be seen. The antler has the hl. Hubertus out the parish patron saint of the local community by Karl Borsch. The cross is a cross of St. Anthony, recalling the day Saints on the day of its consecration, the St.. Anthony.
