Karl Brown (cinematographer)

Karl Brown ( born December 26, 1896 in McKeesport, United States, † 25 March 1990 in Woodland Hills (Los Angeles ), United States) was an American cinematographer, screenwriter and director.

Life

Brown was already 15 years old laboratory assistant in the film. At 17, he began to D. W. Griffith to work. For this he turned the camera special effects or was second cameraman. In 1919 he was promoted to director of photography. His directorial debut was in 1927, from 1939 he wrote exclusively screenplays for second-or third-rate movies. 1942 ended his work in active film business.
