Karl Doppler

Karl Doppler ( born September 12, 1825 Lviv, † March 10, 1900 in Stuttgart) was a Hungarian- German composer.

The brother of Franz Doppler was flute virtuoso and musical director until 1865 at the theater in Budapest, then from 1865 to 1898 Kapellmeister in Stuttgart. He composed several operas Hungarian (including A gránátos tábor - The Encampment of the grenadiers, 1853), music for Hungarian folk plays, a collection of Hungarian folk dances and choirs. His son Árpád Doppler worked as a composer.
