Karl Eduard Heusner

Karl Eduard Heusner ( born January 8, 1843 in Perl, † February 27, 1891 in Weimar ) was a German Vice Admiral.

Life

Heusner occurred in 1857 in the Prussian Navy and took 1859-1862 in the expedition to the Far East on the frigate SMS Thetis part. In 1864 he commanded the German - Danish War, the gunboat SMS wasp and was stationed in the following years in the Mediterranean and also sent to the West Indies. 1872 led Heusner survey work in the Baltic and in 1873 chairman of the torpedo Examiners.

1878 to 1880 he was sent to South America to defend the interests of the German population in Peru, as broke the Salpeter between Chile and Peru / Bolivia. He also supervised the observance of the neutrality laws.

Other commands:

1888 Heusner was Chief of the Naval Department ( Marine Department) in the Admiralty. In this position, he was promoted on January 21, 1889 Rear Admiral. In the same year Heusner was Secretary of the Navy Office. In 1890 he had to give up because of a heart condition and this position has been exempted as Vice- Admiral of the service.

Karl Eduard Heusner died on 27 February 1891 in Weimar.
