Karl-Friedrich Haas

Karl -Friedrich Haas ( born July 28, 1931 in Berlin ) is a retired German athlete, who in 200 - was successful and in the 400 - meter race and at the Olympic Games for the FRG in an all-German team won two medals starting:

Karl -Friedrich Haas launched for the 1st FC Nuremberg. In his playing days, he was 1.86 m tall and weighed 72 kg. In 1964 he ended his sports career.

Haas came as a child to Nuremberg and grew up there. In 1947, he went to his first competition - in sneakers of his father. In 1958 he completed his engineering degree at the Technical University of Munich. Later he worked for Siemens AG in many countries of the world during power plant construction works. Since 1995 he is retired.

He married in 1956 Maria Sturm and has a son, Christian Haas (born 1958 ), who was also successful as a sprinter ( relay bronze medal at the European Championships 1982).

1957 Karl -Friedrich Haas was awarded the Rudolf Harbig Memorial Award, after he had previously been standard bearer of the all-German team at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in the year.
