Karl Heinrich Barth

Karl Heinrich Barth ( born July 12, 1847 in pillau, † December 23, 1922 in Berlin) was a German piano teacher and pianist.

Karl Heinrich Barth was a piano teacher in Berlin at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. He was a pupil of Hans von Bülow and Carl Tausig and thus grandson student of Franz Liszt. In 1868 he became a teacher at the Stern Conservatory and appointed in 1871 to the Berlin Academy of Music. He also had great success as a soloist, especially in England, and was a frequent partner of Joseph Joachim. Among his most important pupils included Arthur Rubinstein ( 1897 ), Heinrich Neuhaus, Siegfried Schultze (including partners of Bronislaw Huberman and Georg Kulenkampff ), Bronisław of Pozniak and Wilhelm Kempff ( 1914 ).
