Karl-Heinz Stroux

Karl -Heinz Stroux ( born February 25, 1908 in Hamborn today to Duisburg, † August 2, 1985 in Dusseldorf ) was a German actor, director and theater director.

Life

The son of a doctor studied between 1927-1930 history and philosophy in Berlin and visited next to drama school at the Volksbühne Berlin, where he was assistant director and actor ( 1928-1930 ). Then was Stroux director at various stages in Berlin, 1934/1935 in Erfurt and from 1936 to 1938 in Wuppertal, 1939-1944 Guest director at the Burgtheater in Vienna. In 1945 he opened the co-founders of Heidelberg Chamber games. In 1946, he was senior director in Darmstadt, 1948 in Wiesbaden, Germany. 1949-1951 was Stroux senior director at the Hebbel Theater, then to 1955 at the Schiller Theater in Berlin and castle park and 1955-1972 general director of the Schauspielhaus in Dusseldorf. From 1972, he worked as a freelance director and then as an actor.

Stroux worked since 1959 with Eugène Ionesco and sat particularly one for the East European theater.

Karl -Heinz Stroux was the father of Thomas Stroux and Stephan Stroux.

His grave is located at the Düsseldorf North Cemetery.
