Karl-Heinz Thielen

Karl -Heinz Thielen ( born April 2, 1940 in Ariendorf ) is a former German football player.

Thielen played the position of right winger in the team of the 1st FC Cologne which in 1963 was a founding member of the 1st Bundesliga. In the first year he was charged with 25 inserts and 15 goals German masters. Overall, he came to the FC also been played since 1959 in the Oberliga West, 1963-1973 221 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 55 goals. On December 7, 1963, he succeeded in a 5-1 victory of the 1st FC Cologne against 1 FC Kaiserslautern as the first of 13 players so far, to achieve five goals in a Premier League game. In the National Team, he played only twice the mid 60s.

After ending his playing career, he was football manager and was instrumental in the signing of coach Hennes Weisweiler, with the 1st FC Cologne 1976/1977 German Cup winner was. 1977/1978 he won the 1st FC Cologne the double ( German Masters / DFB Cup winner).

Later, he also worked as Treasurer, President and Vice President. From 1989 to 1991 he was director of sport at Fortuna Dusseldorf. From late 1992 to September 1993, he returned once as a manager for the 1 FC Cologne. He succeeded to save the club from the threat of relegation to the second Bundesliga. In the same year he was awarded the 1st FC Cologne German indoor champion.

Today, Karl -Heinz Thielen has worked as a players' agent.
