Karl Hopfner

Karl Hopfner ( born August 28, 1952) is a German football official in the service of FC Bayern Munich. He is also a member of various committees and UEFA since 2010 Board member of the German Football League.

Life

Hopfner completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk and a degree in business administration. Before joining the football field, he held senior positions with an industrial company. In 1982, he competed as manager of FC Bayern Munich, was set in 1983 and has since been continuously involved in this function. 2009-2012, he was also Deputy Chairman of FC Bayern München AG. In August 2010, he was elected to the board of the League Association DFL.

Although Hopfner has contributed significantly to the economic success story of the club and his work is often cited in publications as the prime example of constant management, his name in public is comparatively unknown. Television viewers is primarily known as a longtime stadium seat neighbor of his prominent colleagues on the board Karl- Heinz Rummenigge and Uli Hoeness Hopfner. The soccer magazine 11 Friends called Hopfner, Rummenigge and Hoeness in 2011 the Bavarian triumvirate and compared their weekly common occurrence in the stadium satirically with the Marx Brothers or three birds of the rod.

At the end of 2012 Hopfner retired from the board of FC Bayern München AG back for health reasons. He was elected in November 2012 as Vice President of FC Bayern München eV and now serves on the board of FC Bayern München AG. On March 14, 2014, the management board of FC Bayern Munich beat him as successor to the retiring club president Uli Hoeness.
