Karl Jansen

Karl Jansen ( born May 28, 1908 in Eickelmann or tub; † November 14, 1961 ) was a German weightlifter.

Career

Karl Jansen grew up in Wanne- Eickel and joined the local heavyweights Club at. He scored in the western region of Germany and the first successes, but the breakthrough came only when he was already 26 years old, in 1934 joined the VKSA 1888 Essen. There, provided with valuable training instructions from Adolf Wagner ( weightlifting ) and Charles Bierwirth, he managed within months the leap into the world-class. His first international assignment in Paris in 1935 brought him equal to the title of European Champion. Winning an Olympic medal in Berlin in 1936 was the high point of his career. His club with which he was several times German team champion, he stood up to his age of 45 as an active weight lifter available.
