Karl Lieffen

Karl Lieffen (born Carel František Lifka, Karl Franz Lifka; born May 17, 1926 in Osek, Czechoslovakia, † January 13, 1999 in Starnberg ) was a German stage, film and television actor.

Life

The son of a mining officials and a hostess or a bohemian chef came up with twelve years by a music scholarship to Brunswick, where he took acting lessons. Another training took place at the Army School of Music in Biickeburg. After a prisoner of war in 1946 he debuted as a stage actor in Freiburg im Breisgau. Involvement in Wiesbaden, Munich and Frankfurt followed. He was acting under directors like Bertolt Brecht, Fritz Kortner Harry Buckwitz and Hans Schweikart. From 1975 Lieffen belonged to the ensemble of the Bavarian State Theatre in Munich.

Nationwide gained popularity in 1991 the Bavarian State actor named Lieffen for his appearances in film and television, as in the title role of the comic book movie Nick Knattertons Adventure ( 1958), as a chauffeur in Billy Wilder's One, Two, Three (1961 ) as Inspector Janot in Jürgen Roland's TV - rate thriller the Crimes of the Hart (1967 to 1973) or as a father in the film adaptation Kempowski Tadellöser & Wolff (1975). Karl Lieffen played over two hundred film and television roles and was several times a guest in crime and entertainment series. In 1994 he played his last television starring in the gay detective series Lutz & Hardy with Hans Korte as a partner.

As a voice actor he lent among other things, Michael Bates (A Clockwork Orange ) and Christian Marin ( The policeman from Saint Tropez) his voice.

In 1974, he published his memoirs How dare you, Lieffen. In the same year, he starred in the first episode of the crime series Derrick and was engaged for the last episode in 1998. It was his last film and television role.

Lieffen died in 1999 of a brain tumor in Starnberg. The final resting place of Karl Lieffen located in Schaeftlarn, District of Munich. Karl Lieffen was honored with the Federal Cross of Merit.
