Karl Martin Sinijärv

Karl Martin Sinijärv ( born June 4, 1971 in Tallinn) is an Estonian poet and writer.

After graduation he studied in Tallinn 1988-1991 Estonian Philology at the University of Tartu. He was editor of numerous Estonian newspapers and cultural magazines.

Karl Martin Sinijärv published at the age of seventeen, his first collection of poems Kolmring ( " three-ring "). He already was considered a child prodigy of the new Estonian literary scene. He describes himself as Ethnofuturisten. In his works he wants to combine archaic content with a new form. In 2002 he received the Poetry Prize of the State Foundation Eesti Kultuurkapital.

Since 2007, Karl Martin Sinijärv is chairman of the Estonian Writers' Union ( SES ).
