Karl von Marinelli

Karl von Marinelli ( baptized on 12 September 1745 in Vienna, † 28 January 1803 ) was an Austrian actor and writer.

Life

Even at sixteen Marinelli was with the acting troupe under the direction of J. Schulz go. Under the new leadership of Johann Matthias Menninger Marinelli could inter alia debut in Bratislava, Budapest and Vienna.

With his plays, especially for these troops, Marinelli later founded the nationally known local Viennese farce of the Viennese popular comedy. Here Johann Joseph La Roche made ​​his breakthrough as a puppet.

1780 Marinelli took over the management of the Force and created with her already in the following year in the Leopoldstadt Theater, the first standing Volksbühne Vienna.

1801 Marinelli was ennobled by Emperor Franz II with the title of Edler.

He died at the age of 58 years on January 28, 1803 in Vienna.

Since 1894 the Marinelligasse is named after him in the Allied quarter in the second district of Vienna, Leopoldstadt.
