Karo Murat

Karo Murat ( armen. Կարո Մուրատ, eigtl Karapet Muradjan, poor. Կարապետ Մուրադյան, born September 2, 1983) is a German boxer of Armenian descent and current, Intercontinental champion of the IBF light heavyweight.

Origin and Youth

Murat was born in Iraq as a member of the Armenian minority population. His family came over Armenia to Germany in 1993, where Murat was growing up in the Franconian Kitzingen, which he regards as his home next to Armenia. At the age of 13 he began boxing.

Murat lives in Kitzingen and Berlin.

Boxing career

During his amateur career, he was several times national champion in Bavaria. He went to Kitzingen, Würzburg, Eichstätt, Nuremberg and Hamm at the start and played 118 amateur fights, of which he won 90.
