Karoline Linnert

Karoline " Karo" Linnert ( born August 30, 1958 in Bielefeld ) is a German politician ( Alliance 90/The Greens ) and Chairman of Bremer Landesbank. She is since 2007 Mayor and Senator for Finance of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.

Biography

Education and work

After graduation in 1977 until 1979 Linnert learned the profession of the radiographer. From 1981 to 1988, she earned a degree in psychology at the University of Bielefeld and the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, which she finished as a psychologist. Afterwards she worked in Bremen as a research assistant for health and social policy at the parliamentary group of the Greens.

The politician nicknamed " Karo" is married to the artist Helmut Oppermann, has two children and lives in Hastedt district.

Policy

Linnert occurred in 1980 in Bremen, the Green Party at. From 1991 until her election as Senator in 2007 she was a member of the Bremen City Parliament. Here she was from 2000 to 2007 chairman of the parliamentary group Alliance 90/The Greens and from 2003 to 2007, Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee.
