Karoline von Manderscheid-Blankenheim

Countess Karoline von Manderscheid - Blankenheim ( Caroline Felicitas Engelberte; born November 13, 1768 in Vienna, † March 1, 1831 ibid ) was Princess of Liechtenstein.

She was the daughter of Count Johann Wilhelm von Manderscheid - Blankenheim to Geroldseck and his wife Countess Johanna Franziska Maximiliana of Limburg- Styrum in Vienna.

On November 16, 1783, she married Alois I, the reigning Prince of Liechtenstein. The marriage remained childless.

Princess Caroline had, however, with her long- term lover, Franz von Langendonck, a captain in the Imperial Austrian army, two illegitimate children: a daughter and son Karl Ludwig (born in the summer of 1793, died after 1868 ), Viscount of Fribert, Lord of Diwak and Polehraditz in Moravia. On September 6, 1813 married the Countess Everilda Esterházy de Galantha (* February 10, 1791, † February 22, 1874 ), daughter of Count Franz Esterházy de Valentin Niklas Galantha and Ursula Hallwyl. On March 24, 1805 Prince Alois died, his brother Johann I Joseph succeeded him as Prince of Liechtenstein. Princess Caroline spent 26 years of her widowhood mainly in Vienna, where she died on March 1, 1831. She was buried in the cemetery Hietzing in Vienna, in Group 2, grave No. 15.
