Karomama (queen)

Karoma (also Karomama ) was an ancient Egyptian queen and the wife of Osorkon II ( reigned from 881/880 BC to 852/851 BC), who was one of the most important ruler of the 22nd Dynasty. Karoma is known primarily of scenes from the temple of Bastet in Bubastis, where her husband has built. Here she is usually depicted behind Osorkon II. She wore, among other things, the title " king consort " and " princess ". She was the mother of the High Priest of Amun, Horn Eight and the high priest in Memphis, Sheshonk. In the latter, without robbing grave she is mentioned several times. With Osorkon II they had three daughters Taschacheper, Karoma and [Ta ?] Iirmer.
