Karrier

Karrier was a British company to manufacture commercial vehicles in particular. The roots go back to the Clayton and Company, which was founded in 1904 in Huddersfield. From 1908 vehicles were produced under the name Karrier, 1920 the company name was changed to Karrier Motors Ltd.. In 1934 the Rootes Group took over the company. Besides Commer Karrier served in this group, the commercial vehicle division, with Karrier for heavy vans and light trucks Commer and was responsible for light commercial vehicles. The Rootes Group was finally acquired by Chrysler in 1967. In 1978, Peugeot came to the naming rights of Karrier by buying the European subsidiary of Chrysler.
