Kashgar Railway Station

The Kashgar Railway Station (喀什 火车站, Kashi Huochezhan /喀什 站, Kashi zhan ) is a railway station in the city of Kashgar in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. It is located along the southern Xinjiang railway (南疆 铁路) Turfan (or Urumqi ) to Kashgar, an extension of the Lan - Xin - line or Lanzhou - Xinjiang railway from Lanzhou to Urumqi.

The station was built in 1999 is located in the east of the urban area. The station is located outside the urban core and urban planning set in a band of several buildings smaller scale. In the wider area several smaller-scale residential areas that have been built over in recent years by a number of large-scale architectural structures exist.

The station forecourt is dimensioned with its dimensions of 230 meters by 300 meters large. The design finds its focus in a circular lawn that removing expands to the entire space area from the station. Directly in front of the station building the right of way and parking spaces are located on the stone covering.

The station serves the function of a central station. However, driving (as of 2009 ) only two daily trains to the station, both of Urumqi coming. At the station also find tickets for trains from Urumqi to be sold. Another ticket sales can be found at the bus station in the center of Kashgar.
