Kashubia
The Kashubian (also Kaschubien, Kashubian Kaszëbë or Kaszëbskô, Polish Kaszuby ) is an area in the historic region of Pomerania in Poland, west and southwest of the city of Gdansk and Gdynia, is spoken in the Kashubian.
Geography
The Kashubian forming the easternmost portion of the Pomeranian Lake District on the Baltic country back. Approximately 40 km southwest of Gdansk with 331 m reaches its highest point in the tower of this mountain. In the Kashubian region, there are several hundred lakes, they are usually narrow and elongated.
Kashubian
The Kashubian region was named after the ethnic group of the Kashubian, who lives here. In his work Geografia współczesnych Kaszub [ Geography of today Kashubian ] ( Gdansk 1999), the Gdansk scientists January Modrawski created ethnological criteria by which areas of today's Poland may be considered Kashubian. Inclusion in the world literature found the Kashubian in Günter Grass's " The Tin Drum". The writer Werner Berggruen has the Kaschubenland immortalized Kashubian Christmas song in his poem.
